ADHD Diet Food

ADHD Diet Food: Food That Can Help The ADHD Patient.

ADHD is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ADHD is a medical condition that affects various aspects of a person's life such as not being able to sit still, pay attention to what is going on and not being able to focus. Those who have this disorder have a disparity in parts of their brain that control behavior such as not being able to focus on what is going on and not being able to physically control themselves. Such individuals are hyper, impulsive and often get into trouble or are misunderstood. ADHD is usually seen in young children but it can also develop in adults. Symptoms of this disorder can be seen in some of the following behaviors: not able to pay attention to instruction or doing work that is messy and careless, delaying work that needs to be done, disorganized, forgetfulness when performing daily activities, easily distracted, putting off chores or things that need to be done around the house or at work, and fidgeting and being unable to do anything without making noise. ADHD diet foods can help with this disorder; they can help lower the hyperactivity and reduce the discouraging feelings that often occur with this disorder. ADHD diet foods was first introduced by Dr.

Feingold in the early 1970s. He introduced a diet concept that eliminated foods from the ADHD patient; foods that contained artificial colorings and flavorings, and natural chemicals such as salicylates in them, such as berries, tomatoes, apricots, and other foods. Research has shown that some children are sensitive to dyes found in certain foods, vitamins, drugs and toothpastes. Some doctors recommend that children stay away from artificial colorings such as Red 40 and Yellow 5, artificial flavorings--especially vanilla, artificial sweetener and BHA, BHT and TBHQ preservatives. In addition, it has been found that some children and adults may be sensitive to the following foods and should avoid them: soybeans, chocolate, milk and other dairy products, eggs, wheat and corn products. ADHD diet food such as bananas, dates, grapefruit, lemons, papayas, pears, pineapple and watermelon can be quite helpful. ADHD diet food with the following vegetables can also be helpful" all types of beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, lettuce, onions, peas, sweet corn, sweet potatoes and squash.

To summarize, ADHD diet food should include some of the following: a diet that is high in protein such as more beans, cheese, meat, eggs and nuts. Eat protein foods in the morning and when eating snacks. In addition, other ADHD diet foods such as honey, candy, and products made from white flour, white rice and potatoes without the skins are also helpful. Make sure to eat more fruits such as oranges, pears, apples and vegetables. Other ADHD diet foods can also be found in salmon, tuna, and white fish, walnuts, and olive and canola oil.
